It was roughly 6 months ago that I got the idea — while browsing around in Michael’s no less! — to create my own jewelry and sell it both on and offline. The kicker about this is that I’ve never designed a piece of jewelry in my life… and I somehow don’t think friendship bracelets back in high school count! *laugh*
Now I do have a love for gemstones, and I knew that if I was to create anything it would be using all natural elements. Beads are nice, but there is nothing more vibrant than having a piece of jewelry made of a gemstone that resonates with you.
So starting that day, I found myself buying supplies. I would pick up anything that caught my eye, even though I had no set plan on what I was going to design. At Christmas time, I received some supplies (leather string, a bunch of stones and beads, along with some spools of twine and wiring) and a small tool kit. I hit the Dollar stores for containers to store my growing obsession, and found myself looking at the jewelry pieces I came across at stores in a whole new light.
And so started my journey in the world of jewelry.
