Beading & Crochet Agenda for August

I’ve been pretty busy with my hook this past month. Think this is crochet thing is slowly becoming my new obsession! More so than beading jewelry… if you can believe it! *laugh* I feel so at home and in my creative zone when I have a hook in one hand and yarn in the other. So much so that if I don’t have them with me wherever I go and I’m just sitting around I feel totally lost! lol Here’s a taste of what I’ve recently hand my hands on…

Start of Blue Afghan

It may not look like it, but it is lining up properly… finally! After two attempts at it, I finally realized why knowing the gauge of a pattern is so important! *laugh*

Anyhoo ….

It being a new month today, I thought it would be a great time to start up an agenda type post again. I quit doing these posts after I parted ways with my accountability partner many months ago. I don’t think I felt quite inspired to continue on with them at the time. But now that I’ve found my inspiration once again, I’ll be sharing my agenda for the upcoming month. I won’t be sharing any personal things I need to be doing, or day to day stuff that we all do. What I will share are my aspirations and goals as they relate to my jewelry and crocheting.

My aims for this month are to ….

  • Finish off some of my crochet projects:
  1. Blue Afghan/Blanket – needs another 70″ or so to it (the pattern is calling it a stote, but I have no clue what that is other than an over the shoulder blanket… please someone enlighten me on this definition & where it comes from)
  2. Crochet Hook Case – sew slots for hooks & strap closer
  3. Granny Squared Bag – still needs the shoulder strap
  • Start new crochet project: dish cloths (going to aim to have a bunch for farmer’s market Christmas show this winter, plus a few other things including jewelry)
  • Update 3 older jewelry designs with new styles
  • Add one new handmade jewelry piece to online shop each week

Something tells me this month is just going to fly by. I can’t believe that 5 years has gone by since my son, Jordyn, born and he’s now starting kindergarten this September- next month!! ack!!  This is definitely going to be a BIG change in our lives. I didn’t think I’d be back in the school system ever again. *laugh* Little did I realize that when one has a child that does eventually happen.

One good thing about him heading into the school system is that I’ll have more time to myself to do things I want to do while he’s away learning … like catch up on my sleep! …. make more jewelry … write more … and of course, can’t forget, more time for crochet!! *laugh*
