I’m just about packed for my trip to Montreal for my Grandfather’s funeral.

Am waiting on some clothes to finish drying in the dryer before I can finish packing my suitcase. As you can see I’m bringing a crochet project along with me. *grin* How could I not?! I would be lost if I couldn’t have my hook and yarn with me! *smiles* Actually, I’m bringing two projects with me – the one you see above is one of my crochet club kits and the other project is a prayer blanket/shawl that I started the day my Grandpa passed on.
That blue bag (see photo above) is one I crocheted this summer/fall. Am using it for my carry-on stuff…. yarn, a bamboo hook, my moleskine daily planner (holding my flight info & important phone numbers), and my wallet with id & money. I’ll be bringing my computer as a carry-on also. I haven’t decided yet if I should bring my camera within my carry-on too or not. I’m sorta leaning towards bringing it. My thought is that by chance my luggage becomes lost then at least I’ll have my most important stuff on me. With that in mind, I should probably put my medication in my carry-on also.
My flight is scheduled to leave at 8:05 tonight, arrive in Halifax around 8:45 with 30 mins to transfer to next plane that arrives in Montreal at 10 pm. My Mom is going to be meeting me at the airport with either her friend Cheryl or my aunt Liza. My Mom & I will be arriving back on the Island on the 25th; next week.
Since I won’t be posting for the next week – am sure, I thought I would leave you with a couple of photos…
The first one being of one that my son, Jordyn, wanted me to take of his stuff animals; Snowy & Barney. Consequentially, the white bear is one that my Grandpa gave him for his first Yule in Montreal. Snowy, the white bear, is his favorite by far. Snowy’s traveled well *laugh* & loves to play in the snow with Jordyn & go sledding.

… and yes, they do happen to be posing on a couple of WIPs of mine. *smiles*
Speaking of WIPs… I finished a bag for the small stash of yarn that I keep by me at all times at home wherever I may be sitting. It’s my own design. Didn’t follow a pattern.

It came out better than I thought. The bottom part I used both green & the bright spring-colored yarn together. The spring-colored yarn I got for Yule from my Mom. Finally found a use for it! The border is done in some yarn from my first online yarn purchase.
Hope you enjoyed those extra photos! *smiles* Will share more that I will take during my trip when I get back… until then…

My Grandpa (mother’s father) passed on earlier today at the Verdun General Hospital in Montreal, Quebec. He was 84 years old, born August 25, 1925 in Edinborough, Scotland, UK.
I was his first grandchild.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to be there to say bye to him while he was still here. Though I am heading to Montreal in a day or two to meet up with my Mom who is there now. She was able to say bye, thankfully, before he passed on in his sleep.
He will be greatly missed.
